Overview of Bara Dari Umer Kot Sindh
Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai
About 55 km north of Hyderabad, three km east of the National Highway, there is a town called bhat shah. Where is the shrine of the great Sufi poet and sage Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is called the uncrowned king of Sindh. Along with being a spiritual figure of the region, he has expressed the sentiments of the downtrodden people in his poetry. Due to which they are highly respected. The tomb was first built by the family. Later Mir family of Talpur made it more beautiful. Both tried to beautify the mosque and tomb by decorating it with yellow glass tiles. Interestingly, Halla, which is also near Bhat Shah, is also a center of tile making. Instead of ordering tiles from there, tiles were made and ordered from Nasirpur and Multan. This shrine has the distinction of being the only shrine where mystical chants are sung at sunset throughout the year.
