Nawab Shah Sindh

Nawabshah, 86 km from Shahpur Chakra via Sanghar, was settled in 1881 by
Syed Nawabshah migrated from Sun (Dado). This city developed very rapidly
and was made a district in 1912. Located on the main GT road, the city also
has an airport. It was established during World War II and was used by the
British Royal Air Force. Now this airport is also used as an alternate
emergency airport for Karachi. People’s Medical College and Quaid Awam
University of Engineering and Technology are its branches. In summer,
the temperature here reaches up to 51 degrees. In September 2008,
it was renamed Benazirabad.
