Kirthar National Park
Established in 1974, this park was built by the Wildlife Department. This park is the second largest national park after Mongolian National Park.
And it is one of the four National Parks of Pakistan which are included in the list of National Parks of the United Nations.
Leopards, Striped Hyena, Wolves, Chinkara Deer, Sindhi Wild Goats, Ratels’ Oryal Bulbul, Gazelle, and numerous other animals are kept in this park.
This park has been specially built as a habitat for rare animals. The park also preserves the black chital which was gifted by former Texas
(USA) to the state of Bahawalpur. The park also has a beautiful lake called Jab. During the monsoon, the park becomes lush with greenery. However,
the best time to visit is from October to February. There is also a Rest House of the Sindh Wildlife Management Board. Two tourist centers within the
park are Khar and Karchat. Accommodation and guide arrangements are also available for tourists at these centers. If you have time, you must see
the ancient rock carvings discovered a few years ago in the Ker Thar mountain range.
