Haleji Lake Thatta Sindh
Located in the Thatta district, this lake is very attractive to tourists.
The route passes through Goju, 82 km from Karachi and 23 km from Bhambur.
It is the largest migratory (wintering) bird sanctuary in Asia.
Initially, this lake was small. During the Second World War,
the British government made a canal from the river Indus and expanded this lake.
During the war, thousands of American and British soldiers settled in Karachi.
Water was provided for them from Halchi lake. The work was completed in 24 months.
This place is a paradise for bird lovers.
PTDC Rest House is also available for overnight stays.
