After a warm and traditional Panjabi welcome at the Wahga border (we may also reach Lahore by air), we will be transferred to the hotel and check in, en route visit Shalimar Garden. Airport pick-up would be arranged for those who want to come by air. Afternoon we will start Vaisakhi/ Baisakhi celebrations at Gurdwara Dera Saheb (Guru Arjun Dev Ji), Samadhi Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Badshahi Masjid, and Lahore Fort. Vaisakhi, also pronounced Baisakhi,
marks the first day of the month of
Vaisakha and is usually celebrated
annually on 13 or 14 April as the
Hindu and Sikh solar new year.
It is additionally a spring harvest
festival for many Hindu and Sikh.

Vaisakhi the Sikh New Year festival
is one of the most important
dates in the Sikh calendar. It marks
the start of the Punjabi New Year,
but it is also a day to celebrate
1699 the year when Sikhism was born
as a collective faith.

Sikhs begin the Vaisakhi with a visit
to the gurdwara, a place of worship.
After religious services are held,
people begin a day of celebration.
They wear colorful, traditional
clothes as they take part in parades
through the streets. There is lots
of singing, dancing and chanting
of hymns.
